The Perfect Steak

Ingredients

  1. Preffered steak - typical 8oz (fillet/sirloin/rib eye)
  2. Salt and pepper
  3. Oil
  4. Butter


Method (pan fried)

  1. Season meat and add to frying pan with a little oil
  2. Cook for 5 mins on a high heat then turn, cook for another 5 mins on a high heat
  3. Add a good knob of butter ans baiste the steak with juices in the pan - do this at least four times
  4. This steak will be medium cooked, for well done cook for a further 5 mins before adding butter


Method (oven cooked - thicker steak)

  1. Season meat and add to frying pan with a little oil to seal meat - this will only take a couple of minutes
  2. Pre-heat oven to hottest possible setting
  3. Place meat in an oven ready dish and cook for:
